Working in an environment with rapid changes in ambient pressure, such as flying or diving, requires good oral health. In an untreated cavity or leaky fillings, air pockets can be formed which expands when the atmospheric pressure changes. This can cause toothache when the plane rises, or when rising towards the surface during diving. The pain can degrade general judgment and pose a safety risk, which is why the demands on pilot’s and diver's dental health are high. Our dentists have undergone training and are approved to carry out dental and jaw examinations.
